Prof. Dr. Tim Alexander Joda

Prof. Dr. Tim Joda is Head of Dental eHealth & Digital Dentistry at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich (UZH), Switzerland since 2022.

He graduated and received his doctorate in dentistry at the University of Munster, Germany (2003). He is triple board-certified in Prosthodontics (SSRD, DGPro, EPA), Periodontology (ZÄK-WL), and Implant Dentistry (DGI). Tim Joda was a recipient of an ITI-Scholarship at the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics, University of Bern, Switzerland (2011). He holds an MSc degree in Prosthodontics & Biomaterials, University of Greifswald, Germany (2012). Tim Joda was awarded an SNF grant and was a Visiting Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine Boston, USA (2014). He received the venia legendi “Privatdozent” (2016) and was appointed Associate Professor (2018) at the University of Bern, Switzerland. From 2015-2018, he was the founding Head of the Division of Digital Reconstructive Technology & Implantology (DiRecTI) in Bern. In 2018, Tim Joda was appointed Vice Chair of the Department of Reconstructive Dentistry, University Center for Dental Medicine Basel (UZB), Switzerland, and served as the Program Director of Postgraduate Education and Head of the Division of Dental Technology & Digital Dental Solutions. Tim Joda earned his PhD in “Digital Implant Workflows” at the University of Siena, Italy in 2019. He also received an executive MBA from the University of Zurich in 2021.

Tim Joda is Principle Investigator and actively involved in clinical and translational research on implant workflows and prosthetic treatment concepts in the field of digital dental technologies and electronic health data management using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
